Dontez Sparks, a 23-year-old resident of Gary, Indiana, lost his life in a devastating accident on Friday night near Exit 261D on I-65 Southbound. The Lake County Coroner’s Office reported that Sparks, who lived on the 1500 block of Tennessee Street, died from blunt force injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:20 p.m.

An autopsy conducted on Saturday at the Lake County Forensic Science Center in Crown Point confirmed the cause of death. However, toxicology results are still pending. Officials have classified the incident as accidental, though details about how the accident occurred remain under investigation.
